Unfortunately I had to take a visit to the emergency vets with my dog on a Sunday evening, she had been unwell for a couple of days. Called my usual vets who offered Vets Now in 2 locations as the out of hours and ended up in Derby. Found the location easily, it's the PDSA hospital, met on arrival by welcoming staff, my dog was seen promptly and after the consultation was given appropriate meds . I'm glad to say that the experience was good.

Mia Ball the vet who was on shift last Sunday was absolutely amazing! She took the time to gain our cockers confidence and went the extra mile to sort him out, she was very thorough in finding out what was going on with him, which is no mean feat when you have a cocker who is terrified of vets! She explained everything to us and was very supportive at a difficult time. He quickly improved with the treatment she administered, with the help of the other staff who gave him lots of fuss and treats to distract him. As advised, we followed up with a visit to our vets the next day for further medication and he has continued to improve. We now face getting his teeth examined under anaesthetic to prevent this incidence reoccurring. If you ever need out of hours emergency veterinary care, this is the place to go!

The vets were quick on video call sent pics of wound. Recommended vets at pdsa immediately. At the vets they tried to stop the bleeding by cold compress but it transpired he needed surgery or I could have lost him.they were brilliant found the bleed. The staff kept me informed throughout the night. Wonderful staff an vets very friendly helpful and sympathetic. I'll be for ever greatful that my odin is still going to be alive for many years to come. Thank you so much ❤️ 💓 💗
