What pet owners say
I am so grateful for the individualised care that has been shown to my nervous dog. He used to have to be examined from a distance in the car. He can now bravely walk into vets, sit in reception and be seen in a consultation room. Special thanks to Jessica, Robyn (I hope that's the right name) and the reception team for building up a relationship with my dog. Jessica has given us a lot of her time to listen to symptoms and try different treatments for allergies. She has a very approachable, gentle approach with our dog and we always leave well informed. I am so grateful to you all for making the vet experience actually an enjoyable one for our dog.

Easy to get an appointment, friendly staff, affordable services (especially the pet health club we use for our puppy’s first year). We started going with our 6yo cat then got a puppy, so have been coming here more and more and are very happy with the service. Vets make an effort for the puppy to enjoy it so she doesn’t get scared going to the vets too.

Our family has been the go to vet for us and our pets for over 30 years and we have always found the staff from the reception to the vets performing surgery on our family pets to be the most professional, knowledgeable, caring and understanding . Your staff are a credit to you and the way you run your practice and the staff you choose to be lucky enough to work there show a real dedication to animal welfare. You have helped our dogs by running social classes that teach them manners and good behaviours and also in their time of need when they are sick or injured. However, today you showed a real personal side that is not part of the service. We received a lovely hand written card of sympathy for Floyd our boxer dog who we very sadly had to put to sleep a week ago. The staff clearly could see how much Floyd was loved and how hard we were finding it to put him to sleep and the card was a lovely thoughtful touch. Floyd was always looked after and cared for to the highest standard and the staff at the counter would regularly come round from their desk to play with Floyd and give him a treat, and he loved it there which is that extra touch that puts him and us at ease in what are normally very testing and stressful times for both of us. One day if we decide to get another pup the vet centre will again be the vet practice we choose to take care and advise us on our new addition to our family.

We sadly had to put our beautiful old boy Alfie to sleep at The Vet Centre on Crow Road on Monday evening. Alfie took a turn very suddenly on Monday afternoon and the practice were so accommodating to see him that evening. Sadly it wasn't good news and he went to sleep that evening. I cannot fully put into words the professionalism, knowledge and compassion given by Vet Leslie. He made the worst day of our lives, caring, calm and kind. His words throughout the whole process were like having a reassuring hand on our shoulders, and really helped us know we were making the best, albeit, hardest decision ever was the best for Alfie. I also have to mention vet nurse Tara, who helped in the end and her warm manner and brief mention of Alfie's usually sassy perosnality when she had treated him before really comforted us knowing even she was familiar to him. The practice worked past their closing hours to allow our family to come and say bye to him. Every single member of staff was so kind to us. I cannot thank them enough. Alfie has been a patient here for quite a while, and was no doubt at times, a difficult patient. I remember calling here crying after my previous vet refused to examine Alfie as they didn't examine "aggressive dogs". From that first call they were so kind and reassuring, stating that every dog is seen and they find a way. This couldn't have been truer. The next day Alfie was seen by Anna, and was for a couple of years during covid. I remember when I was allowed back in after restrictions and Anna picking Alfie up and sitting with him on her knee saying "oh this is where Alfie is happiest". I stood in awe as she did da full examination and vaccination on her knee with Alfie calm and happy to let her do anything. It is the people working in this practice that sets them apart. Regardless of his grumpiness, every vet and nurse always found a kind way to deal with him in his time there (which was a lot). I'll be forever grateful to this practice that his final moments were made to be as nice as they could have been in that situation. We also received a card with a very beautiful personal message from Leslie who managed to take paw prints for us the next day. This would not have been an easy task and I'm forever grateful for him doing so. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to The Vet Centre Team for all you did for Alfie and continue to do for our dogs Audrey & Rufus. Alfie's Family ❤️
