What pet owners say
Brilliant! Before our appointment we got the call from the Referral team. She made sure we understood the whole process and what to expect on the day (+ insurance claim info). On the day of the appointment everyone was really welcoming and helpful. The vet and team were patient with my anxious dog and very thorough. The type of place you don’t want to come back, but for different reasons. Absolutely brilliant service!!! ++++ they have a play area whilst you wait for lab results.

This practice is truly amazing. Starting with the reception. My dog was hit by a car and needed urgent medical care. We transferred Rex to Them last Thursday morning. Writhing the hour he had been seen and a team consisting of a neurosurgeon, orthopaedic surgeon and an optometrist. The nurses took such good care of him We were involved in his care every step of The way. They were compassionate understanding and caring. On Friday morning my boy Had his leg amputated. I Cannot thank the full team enough

First of all before I share my story ! Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists are a totally professional , supportive and skill full Veterinarian Hospital . Covering the whole aspect of pet care - whether it be operative , blood analysis , examination or specialist Convalescence . The day started on the camp site in the new forest , with me and my wife Sarah and my three little dogs Dotty , Fred and Lizzy our young French bulldog . We decided to go for a walk to explore the area . After about fifteen minutes all three dogs and there owners , were getting quite hot so we decided to stop for a water break under some trees for shade. We noticed that Lizzy had started frothing at the mouth and she laid down immediately . We got really worried , we always take a dog buggy for Dotty our oldest French bulldog . I immediately laid Lizzy in the buggy and rushed back to the camp site . I filled the sink with cold water and placed Lizzy in the water to cool her , she started vomiting and we decided to get her into the car and wife phoned the local Priory Veterinary in Christchurch , and we rushed Lizzy there as she had started shaking with shock . They immediately started working on her to stabilise her and treat her to improve her condition and kept her in over night . Unfortunately she hadn’t improved enough by the next day , they decided we should take her to the Southern Counties Veterinary Hospital . The prognosis wasn’t great and we very worried and emotionally upset . They worked tirelessly over the weekend as we waited at the camp site with our other two dogs . They kept us informed and decided to give our little girl blood transfusions to improve her condition . They even let us visit to see her as they knew we were really worried and upset . They contacted us on the Sunday , and gave us the news we wanted , that she was much better and told we could pick her up . Thank you Charlotte and all the team you did a magnificent job and save our little Lizzy . Me and my wife Sarah will be forever in your debt . All our love David and Sarah , Dotty Fred and most of all little Lizzy ❤️

Our precious dog, Enzo, was extremely ill when transferred to Southern Counties and he - and we - received excellent care from his arrival. Henry and his colleagues acted quickly and efficiently to discover and treat Enzo’s condition and he was cared for in a professional and caring manner. Henry and Charlotte also showed care and compassion when communicating with a very worried and distressed owner - me!! We are indebted to everyone at Southern Counties, thank you so much.

No complaints from me. The staff were extremely attentive and my dogs needs were met and addressed by nurses and specialists who clearly enjoy their work. There was no pressure to undertake potentially unnecessary (and expensive) scans and I was updated daily on my dog's progress.
