I have had many vets over the years and being a breeder have found some vets to be very opionated on my choice to breed dogs despite me doing everything above board and through the Kennel Club etc. With health testing and getting my premises checked. This has been upsetting to me because I love everyone one of my dogs and keep them for their whole lives giving them wonderful lives with lots of different opportunities. I visited Rufford vets in Highpark as I need to get Remi spayed and from the first phone call, to booking in, seeing the vet and the nurse I didn't feel I was being judged for having bred litters from Remi. I was made to feel welcome and they were actually interested in the litters Remi has bred and I was so proud to tell them what beautiful dogs she produced and what a wonderful mummy she had been. This meant a great deal to me and really put my mind at ease knowing I was going to be leaving her in the care of people who cared. Remi has anxiety and I asked if she could meet someone who would be dealing with her on the day of the operation and the vet arranged this so that Remi will have a familiar face when she goes in, this made such a difference to how we have been treated in the past. I now feel at ease about leaving her with them for the operation and to recover and really do trust she will be treated with love and care, thank you you have really put my mind at ease ✨️

Always attend for my dogs yearly jabs. This last visit was an emergency and they gave appointment immediately. Very kind and considerate reception members. The lady vet was caring and efficient explaining my dogs symptoms and diagnosis and treating him well giving him immediate relief and clear instructions on how to administer prescribed medication. I had the choice of leaving him there overnight or continuing treatment at home I opted to bring him home as he is a rescue and finds separation stressful. He seems brighter treatment ongoing. Highly recommend this Southport vets

The receptionists are always friendly and helpful, and the vets and nurses are full of great advice. My cat is always handled with patience and care. You're given advance notice if an appointment is coming up (such as vaccinations) or your pet is due any treatments (such as flea and worm). All in all, I have no complaints and am happy to recommend this practice to others.

We took our temporarily kept injured pigeon named Geraldine to Rufford Vets. Despite not being on their client list, they took Geraldine in to heal. We thank you for your kindness and sure that Geraldine is also grateful. Would recommend.

We have used the vets for over 35 years with numerous animals, rabbits, hamsters, dogs even longtails. We have always had excellent service both from receptionists and vets. They have often told us that there is no treatment needed and help keep down the cost. I would never think to go anywhere else.
