What pet owners say
Had to take my 9 year old budgie here, she wasn't keeping too well. Only found out she was a 'she' after an X Ray! Archie is now Annie! Professional and friendly service, would definitely recommend if you need a vet that knows about birds.

I can’t recommend Largs Oaks Vets highly enough. Both of my dogs have been patients here over the years, and every experience has been exceptional. The care, compassion, and professionalism shown by the entire team have always been second to none. One of my dogs, in particular, has undergone a couple of operations, and the support we received throughout was outstanding. The vets, nurses, and receptionist kept me informed every step of the way, and their kindness and reassurance made what could have been a very stressful time so much easier. Knowing my dog was in such capable and caring hands gave me complete peace of mind. Thank you to everyone at Largs Oaks Vets for the amazing care you’ve given my dogs over the years. Your dedication and genuine love for animals really shine through, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your practice to anyone looking for outstanding veterinary care.

I use this vet practice often, as our household includes 6 cats and 1 dog. The staff here are friendly, welcoming and helpful. When calling there is rarely much of a wait before the phone is picked up and repeat prescriptions are handled with ease, either through the phone or online (super easy!). Occasionally we need a prescription on short notice and this is never a problem. The vets seem knowledgeable and the nurses too. We've had good news and bad news and both are handled with care and professional. The facilities are good, with two consultation rooms, and a large reception area with separate space for cats and dogs. Lots of options for food, supplements, treats and toys, should you fancy treating your most treasured to a little something. Centrally located in Large, with paid parking across the road, and free 1 hour street parking in the area, should you be lucky to find a space. All in all a good experience, would definitely recommend.

Our wee dog, Tilly, was a patient at Oak Vets, Largs, for the last 12 years. Sadly, she had to be put to sleep yesterday after a harrowing trip by wheelbarrow, car and ferry from Millport when we were let down by a home vet and only the kindness of Shona and her staff in keeping the Largs surgery open for an extra 2 hours allowed Tilly a peaceful passing. Marina and Amy* showed great compassion and understanding as they relieved Tilly of her pain and distress. We are so grateful to all the Oak Vets staff who have been so kind and loving to Tilly and ourselves over the years. Margaret Carson and Tom Aitchison *Hope we got your names correct as we were so distressed by wee Tilly’s condition.

We were on holiday and our aged dog fell off the couch and dislocated his shoulder at 6am in the morning. We contacted the 24hr practice and they were very professional and helpful. As it was an hour Dive away we decided to wait and go to Oakes veterinary clinic. It opened at 8.30am and we were only a 15minute drive away. Their staff were excellent and dealt with Buddy very professionally. We had to leave him and they were constantly keeping us informed what they were doing and explained everything. Thankfully we could pick him up by lunchtime and bring him home. They have also sent all his details to our own vetinery practice so we can take him there for further evaluation. It was a very stressful time and we were very lucky to have such excellent care
