What pet owners say
Great experience at Fields for a very nervous cat. Vet we saw (Leyla) was kind, patient and explained all options very clearly. Would highly recommend.

Came here from Summerhill, with my elderly Labrador. Overall very happy with the practice, they appear to care and I trust them. They can hold different views (the same with any medical professional). I’ve seen all the vets here over the years I’ve been coming and they’ve all treated my dog with care and kindness and not been rough, or tried to straddle him as other vets have (he’s arthritic and has had TPLO so it’s very bad to bear down with any weight on him, but he can get a bit excited and has always had selective hearing). My Lab had an operation here to remove a growth and was given his own fan and comfortable bedding. Communication was good throughout either the vet (Marian) or receptionist rang me a few times- it was only a minor op and all went well, due to my dogs age and being a little plump the anaesthetic was risky but was a success and he was in good spirits after. I mostly see Ed every 4 weeks for a weigh in, then Librela and any other issues you get with older dogs. He takes the time to go through each treatment and doesn’t make you decide there and then if you are not sure. He’s seen Charles and Aston too. My dog is happy to come here, other dogs seem to be happy too. I never see any shaking/trembling like I have in other practices. It’s clean and doesn’t have that clinical smell. There is a separate area for cats and reactive dogs. I have found them to be transparent with pricing, there haven’t been any surprises, they’ll lay out alternatives and explain the pros and cons of each treatment. For example my dog has recurrent ear infections, I was told they can take a swab, send it to a lab who will ‘grow it’ and then recommend a treatment but if it fails to grow then I’ll have spent hundreds for nothing. So they took their own swab and ‘grew it’ in house which was a nominal cost. So now I know there’s a good chance that the bacteria (or whatever it is) will grow and they should be able to recommend a treatment. Fields are owned by IVC Evidensia (as are many practices) which is a private company who saw an opportunity to exploit the pet care industry and make profits. Vets don’t earn that much and they don’t personally profit from pricing. Vet practices are cheaper in other countries like the U.S because they aren’t privately owned. The only gripes I would have is paying £50 for a nail trim, it costs more than acrylics for humans! I think they have a scheme but I’m not on it. I also find it extremely hot in there at times.

Lulu and Truley love visiting Fields vets after having bad experiences at another leading veterinary practice. We have found that Fields vets are run far more professionaly & are by far much cleaner, more friendly and welcoming. In the 2 1/2 years we have been with them they have shown outstanding knowledge and best practice helping one of our dogs out of a near death experience. Couldn't recommend Fields vets enough. Outstanding !
