Hamilton’s have been nothing short of amazing. My girl severely broke her leg running & hit a ditch. I was referred over to Hamilton’s. David did her surgery, gave me advice every step of the way when Bella wasn’t handling recovery very well (developed severe separation anxiety). The hydrotherapy nurses, the receptionist, everyone has just been beyond kind. I can’t thank them all enough! I was in such a state and they completely put my mind at ease. We were referred to Hamilton Specialist Referrals to investigate a large swelling on the back of our dog’s rear leg. We’d had input from 4 other vets beforehand but no one really knew what was causing the swelling. We then saw Michael at Hamiltons - he was very thorough, knowledgeable, and almost immediately said that he suspected some form of mass (which turned out to be correct). He talked us through the scans in detail so we knew exactly what they showed, and he took his time to explain the risks and options available. We agreed to surgery on his recommendation. Karla completed the surgery itself and both her and her team were also fantastic and thorough. They were also incredibly fair on pricing and only charged us for the things they actually did, and not the full package prices we had agreed to upfront, meaning we paid far less than we expected to. Our dog is now recovering amazingly well and we couldn’t be happier with the care received. We would 100% recommend Hamiltons to anyone who wants the absolute best care for their pets.

I’ve been a dog owner for over 25 years, and my recent experience with Hamilton Vets was nothing short of exceptional. My 57kg Estrela Mountain Dog suffered a torn cruciate ligament — his second one in under two years. The first time, we used a local vet where I lived at the time. I genuinely believed we had received top-notch care back then and even praised that clinic during my initial consultation at Hamiltons. But the difference in approach and outcomes has been eye-opening. Unlike the first time — where he was confined to strict cage rest for six weeks and required heavy sedation (including six weeks of trazodone) just to keep him calm — Hamilton’s treatment plan allowed for five-minute walks from the start. This alone made a massive difference in his mental well-being. He only needed medication for a couple of weeks, tapering off quickly to just Metacam. The recovery has been night and day in comparison. I had initially hoped to have the operation done at the RVC, but I was genuinely surprised — in the best way — by the level of service and expertise at Hamiltons. Michael was brilliant, taking the time to explain everything thoroughly, and six weeks on, my dog is doing incredibly well. There was no post-op inflammation like last time, and he’s healing faster thanks to the modern, up-to-date methods Hamiltons uses. If you’re considering Hamiltons, I can say wholeheartedly: you can have complete confidence in their care. On top of all that, their prices were more affordable than my previous local vet.
