Absolutely thrilled with my experience at Hamilton Specialist Referrals! From the moment I walked in, the team provided amazing support for Luna’s knee problem. They took the time to explain every detail, keeping me informed throughout the process. Post-op care was exceptional, making handling her recovery much easier and smoother. Thank you for your dedication and expertise.

We were referred to Hamilton Specialist for our 'wonder dog' Leo to have an evaluation and MRI for seizures and behavioural changes. The staff were absolutely amazing, so caring, so thorough and they took time to give Leo a complete examination before he went for the MRI explaining to us exactly what would happen, the risks involved and how long it woukd take. The staff made us feel relaxed and confident that Leo was being looked after by top professionals in their field of expertise. The scan was expensive but for the treatment recieved was worth every penny, as a result we got answers to why Leo has started to have seizures and has behavioural changes and Leo has just started on medication that will hopefully start to help him. I highly recommend Hamilton Specialist Referrals as one of the top treatment centres around.

Our experience with Hamilton Specialist Referrals in April 2024 was exceptional, I really cannot fault them on anything. Our dog was referred to Hamilton following a CT scan at our normal vets in London on a Tuesday morning. Within a few hours of the referral, Hamilton had already reached out to us with appointments for that same week which we booked for Friday. The surgeon then looked at our CT scan on the Wednesday morning and, on the basis of the scan, Hamilton proactively reached out to us asking if we could bring her a day earlier so our dog was not in pain for longer than necessary. We then brought her to Hamilton on the earlier appointment slot and had our consultation with the surgeon, Pete Smith, who is a wonderful and kind man who clearly knows what he is doing. Everything Pete said checked out with the frantic Googling I’d already done on the condition which was of course reassuring. Additionally, we had expected to have to pay for an additional MRI on top of the CT scan already done, but the CT scan was so clear, and her symptoms inat presentation so consistent with the diagnosis, that we were given the option to proceed without an MRI since the diagnosis was already so clear and an MRI would just be additional money rather than information in his case, and since it would be better to move her to surgery sooner rather than later based on her symptoms and scan. We really appreciated this information on 2 levels: 1. Our dog’s comfort and wellbeing was prioritised 2. They had been proactively honest on whether or not the incurred cost would give more information, and allowed us to decide. After surgery, we immediately received a call from the surgeon detailing how the procedure had gone, and from then on we were give twice-daily calls - morning and evening- on how our dog’s condition and behaviour. Upon discharge we were given a very comprehensive post-op care regimen for our doc, along with additional information on wound-care and things to watch out for from a physiotherapist at the practice, along with a WhatsApp number we could text at any time for advice as she recovers. We also received a courtesy call after checking in on her condition, and at all times we felt like they had treated our dog as well as they would their own. Of course, it helps that in our case the outcome was good in writing such a positive review - but every interaction with them made me feel she was in excellent hands, and I was informed every step of the way, and given enough information to make decisions best for my pup. Thank you so much Hamilton!

Edit- we have finished our treatment with the clinic, we have been supported throughout, all questions answered and we were always given the honest truth throughout. No false hope but a realistic plan and management for Yuki and her lifelong disease to ensure best quality of life. We can’t thank the clinic enough and the most amazing Vet Dr Tyge for his incredible professionalism and manner. Thank you We haven’t even finished our surgery with this vet team yet, but I wanted to share how incredible the team here are. The vet Dr Tige has been nothing but compassionate, professional and extremely patient with us. I have the upmost faith in him and trust him with my dogs health. He takes time to answer all of our questions and physically shows us with diagrams, pictures and physical models of bones so that we can understand what is happening and why. He takes a lot of time for us and is honest. He doesn’t lie, he’s honest from the start and informed us that he can’t fix our dog, but he can help her. There’s never a sold false hope , but honest advice. He keeps us up to date and is very communicative also. I can’t express how impressed I am, and I am sure no doubt the surgery will go as smoothly with their team. Our dog has severe elbow dysplasia at 2 years old with bone fragments, we are hoping to maintain a good quality of life mostly pain free, I am reassured with Dr Tyge ‘s guidance that we are doing the best thing for Yuki. Thank you

We were referred to Hamiltons when our cat was hit by a car and suffered a pelvic fracture and tail injury. All of the staff have been amazing; Cuddles was initially treated by Mike Farrell, who performed his complicated fracture repair. Mike was absolutely lovely, very reassuring and kept in touch about what was happening. Mike left the practice 2 days after Cuddles's surgery and Cuddles was discharged by Barbara who had also been involved in his care. She carefully explained his surgical procedure and aftercare as well as making sure we had appropriate prescribed medication to go home with. Follow-ups have been with vet David Sajik and he's been so wonderful. Cuddles has had a small infection in his healing wound but I have felt so reassured that antibiotics will sort this out (it's almost healed now). Obviously the specialist surgery isn't cheap, but I do wonder whether people realise the overheads and huge amount of training etc that go into becoming a specialist vet and running a hospital. I saw someone complaining that they'd had to pay for an MRI which showed that nothing was wrong. The MRI doesn't magically become free if there's nothing to treat - personally I'd be massively grateful if my pet didn't need treatment! But I digress. It was lovely to be able to get updates and photos when Cuddles was an inpatient and the messages were lovely because everyone seemed to fall in love with Cuddles! Thank you :)
